Timberlook featured in George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations
Did you catch this week’s episode of George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations, on Channel 4? Our Timberlook Heritage Flush Sash Windows and French doors were specified to great effect throughout, and we simply had to share some images from the program below. It features an incredible transformation project, undertaken by the owners of some 120-year agricultural buildings near Manchester, including a milking parlour and cowsheds.
The traditional style of our flush casement system makes them an ideal alternative to wooden windows. Timberlook flush windows are virtually maintenance-free so the owners of this renovation will not need to worry about the hassle or cost associated with the upkeep of wood frames. With all the benefits of modern technology and materials, they are energy-efficient and secure too – ideal for contemporary living.
The textured wood-effect finish perfectly complements the rest of the build. They decided to go with our popular Painswick colour externally, which is a common choice when installing new windows in a red brick house. Another name used for this same greeny-grey colour is Agate Grey, or Painswick RAL 7038. Continuing with the theme of wood-effect finishes, the owners used specialist plasterers to create faux-wood beams that really do look like original features (see image above).
We have added all of these images to our Pinterest profile where you will also find a range of photos from a wide selection of properties. The minimal flush style, with mechanically-jointed corners with mortise and tenon looks, is ideal for a range of projects, both period and modern. There are a growing number of optional enhancements that can be added to Timberlook Flush Sash Windows & Doors, such as astragal glazing bars, transom weather bars, and also the Premium Ironmongery handles by From The Anvil – making it easier to match existing window styles or create a truly unique design for your project.
